Marketa and Joel Edwards created Ezy Peazy Babywear following the birth of their first child.
As infants are technically not ready to deal with the outside world, it is important to make their environment as close to the womb as possible. We felt that one way we could do this is to clothe them in apparel that is quick and easy to dress and use soft, comfortable and organic clothing.
Studies show that pesticides are among the five worst environmental threats to children's health and as most clothing lines don’t take into consideration the toxins used to produce their fabric and their impact on the environment, it was important to us to create a line that was not only gentle on our baby but on the environment too.
We had to have a premium fabric. We needed the clothing to be soft, comfortable and to be safe on our baby’s sensitive skin especially as our daughter had developed eczema. We felt that there was an even greater need for our baby to be wearing clothes that were natural, breathable and pure. The last thing we wanted against our baby’s sensitive skin was clothes laced with chemicals.
And as new parents, we soon realized that dressing our newborn was a challenge and we couldn’t help but feel wrong about forcing our baby into clothes that many times didn’t take into consideration how difficult and scary it is to dress an infant for both bubs and new parents. Therefore all our clothing is designed with ease of use in mind and ultimate comfort (no scratchy tags either).
